The T474 and T494, are powered by the same 47 horsepower naturally aspired variant of the TYM A2300N2 engine, with 35.9 PTO horsepower. The A2300N2 has proven to be an incredibly reliable engine over the years, giving all three models the same predicted reliability and 6-year powertrain warranty coverage. Some buyers prefer the simplicity of the naturally aspirated variant, which makes the T494 an easy replacement for the T574.

The T474 is more compact with a slightly narrower wheelbase of 69.7 inches and overall length of 131 inches, making it easier to maneuver in tighter spaces such as indoor plant nurseries, animal production environments, and smaller outbuildings. Its lighter 3607 lbs total weight (cab variant) combined with optional hybrid tires make it an excellent backyard machine to reduce turf damage and compaction.

With the same core frame and dimensions, the T574 and T494 boast a higher hitch lift capacity of 3822 lbs and 2790 lb loader lift making them more capable of handling heavier attachments. Many compact tractor attachment classes today are separated at the 50 horsepower mark, making it important to confirm the recommend horsepower range of the implement you intend to use when picking between the T494 and T574.
With a rear hitch lift capacity of around 2688 lbs and 2152 lb loader lift, the T474 is a capable performer as the leader of the Series 2 line, but it's focus on a compact frame and added maneuverability mean it may face some challenges with larger jobs such earthmoving or planting.
Operator Comfort and Features:
