Some buyers prefer the simplicity of the naturally aspirated variant, which makes the T494 an easy replacement for the T574.

Transmissio Options:

  • T574: 8-Speed Synchro Shuttle or 3-Range Infinite Hydrostatic Transmission
  • T494: 8-Speed Synchro Shuttle or 3-Range Infinite Hydrostatic Transmission
  • T474: 12-Speed Shuttle or 3-Range Infinite Hydrostatic Transmission

Dimensions and Weight:

With a wheelbase of 76.2 inches, a length of 141.3 inches, and an operating weight of 4233 lbs (cab variant), the T574 and T494 have identical frames and overall sizes, designed to provide a stable platform for heavy duty jobs. The omission of the turbocharger in the T494 amounts to a mild 40 lb difference between it and the T574. The T474 is more compact with a slightly narrower wheelbase of 69.7 inches and overall length of 131 inches, making it easier to maneuver in tighter spaces such as indoor plant nurseries, animal production environments, and smaller outbuildings. Its lighter 3607 lbs total weight (cab variant) combined with optional hybrid tires make it an excellent backyard machine to reduce turf damage and compaction.

Lift Capacity and Attachments:

With the same core frame and dimensions, the T574 and T494 boast a higher hitch lift capacity of 3822 lbs and 2790 lb loader lift making them more capable of handling heavier attachments. Many compact tractor attachment classes today are separated at the 50 horsepower mark, making it important to confirm the recommend horsepower range of the implement you intend to use when picking between the T494 and T574. With a rear hitch lift capacity of around 2688 lbs and 2152 lb loader lift, the T474 is a capable performer as the leader of the Series 2 line, but it's focus on a compact frame and added maneuverability mean it may face some challenges with larger jobs such earthmoving or planting.

Operator Comfort and Features:

TYM has made operator comfort a priority with all of it's models today. Standard high-quality air conditioning and heating, bluetooth radios, large cupholders, comfortable operator's chairs, and ergonomic controls come standard on all three models. The T574 and T494 share identical cabins, with the advantage of a wider and more spacious overall footprint that's better suited to additional monitors and equipment such as planter information, scale heads, and GPS guidance equipment. With the same excellent cabin features, the T474 offers excellent value in a narrower cabin format to offer the best maneuverability in it's class.

Overall Value:

Over the past few years, the T474 has seen a 12-15% price advantage compared to the T574, and a 6-7% advantage compared to the T494. With the same powerplant as the T494 in a more maneuverable frame, it’s an ideal choice for value-conscious buyers who are looking for strong performance, minimal ground impact, and the same 6-year warranty for their property management needs. Need more power for your attachments or greater overall lift capacity? The T574 and T494 have you covered with a wider, more stable stance and identical heavy duty frames. Deciding between the two generally comes down to the job at hand. Focused on loader-oriented tasks and 3-point jobs that don't require high operating speeds? Consider the value of the T494. Brandt C550 55-Ton Heavy Haul Trailer: Our Overview

Brandt C550 55-Ton Heavy Haul Trailer: Our Overview

Strength, Durability, and Incredible Engineering for Demanding Loads

The Brandt C550 55 Ton Heavy Haul Trailer is a powerhouse built with one thing in mind: exceptional reliability no matter the job. Whether you're handling construction, mining, or manufacturing equipment, it's designed to tackle the challenges of oversized, heavy loads with ease. Brandt Heavy Haul Trailer

Incredible Capacity and Deck Wells

Brandt's Heavy Haul line of trailers stand out in the market with options from 35 to 85 tons, making it easy to get exactly what you need for your next job. As the most popular model in the line, the C550 is built with a 26-foot 10-inch deck well to offer industry-leading space and an 18" deck height to help keep loading fast and easy. This design also improves overall stability with a lower center of gravity and improves accessibility in limited access areas. Additionally, the C550 offers the deepest rear boom trough available today, with a standard eight-foot knuckle trough and rear boom trough, reducing overall height when transporting excavators or similar boomed equipment, minimizing the need for over-height permits.

QT100 Structural Steel

A significant factor behind the C550’s durability is its use of QT100 structural steel; ideal for its high tensile strength and overall toughness. Used throughout the trailer, it greatly contributes to a much longer overall useful life, while limiting downtime due to wear from challenging road conditions. Although QT100 steel adds to the overall purchase price, the resulting reduction in maintenance and additional service years; including a higher resale value, makes it a compelling option for regular operations.

Sealed Wiring Harness for Low Maintenance

To boost reliability and reduce maintenance on the most common reasons for trailer failures, the C550 comes with a fully sealed wiring harness. This protects from moisture, dust, rocks, and friction at mounting points, greatly reducing downtime and helping to guarantee DOT compliance from the first mile to the last.

Durable Adhesive Gel Powder Coat

After designing the full heavy haul line with QT100 steel, the Brandt engineering team selected a high-quality adhesive gel powder coat finish that's built to handle wear across the extended life of the trailer. It's unique adhesive base helps to prevent chipping from direct rock strikes, while the gel composition and powder coat treatment minimize corrosion. So whether you're handling road salts, long winters, or debris-filled areas, you're covered by the best finish in the industry.

14 hp Hydraulic Power Pack

The C550's Hydraulic RGN features a reliable 14-horsepower EFI power pack, making detachment and reattachment far easier on frequent stops. Fully enclosed in a high strength front cabinet to protect from UV and physical damage, it powers the proprietary Brandt latching system. This system allows the gooseneck to easily line up and securely latch when on uneven terrain, saving you time and hassle in unimproved environments.

Enhanced Safety and Convenience

The C550 excels in safety; beyond its advanced braking system, the trailer features chain securement pockets, d-rings, and chain cutouts throughout, designed with oversized loads in mind. It's five ground clearance settings in 1.5" increments (adjustable from 5” to 8”), are ideal for setting up for bridges, railway crossings, or crowded roads. Meanwhile, high-visibility lights and premium tires from the factory have the basics covered, allowing you to focus on the job at hand.

Versatility Across Industries

The Brandt C550’s versatility makes it a valuable asset across multiple industries. It's ability to handle various types of loads— from large machinery and industrial components to modular buildings makes it suitable for diverse applications. This flexibility is particularly beneficial for companies operating in multiple sectors or requiring adaptable transportation solutions. Whether you're in construction, manufacturing, mining, or another industry, the C550 and it's line of sister products is built to have you covered.

Exceptional Warranty

Together, the premium features of the C550 are backed by a 2 Year Bumper to Bumper Warranty and 5 Year Structural Warranty. With parts warehouses across the United States and Canada, Brandt makes it easy to handle unexpected issues with their dedicated department of trained specialists and local servicing dealers.

Ideal Applications

The Brandt C550 trailer is especially well-suited for several demanding applications, such as:

Construction

In construction, the Brandt C550 is indispensable for transporting heavy machinery, materials, and oversized equipment. This is the environment that it's extended deck well and deep rear boom trough were designed for, making the largest excavators today an easy job. Have a bulldozer or piece of equipment that needs help up? Consider adding Brandt's ultra-rugged flip down ramps to your C550 for an even smoother approach.

Manufacturing

With it's powerful self-contained powerpack and uneven ground-latching system, the C550 allows drivers to make multiple stops in unimproved areas faster than ever. Used in their own operations across Canada, Brandt saw the need for a trailer that could drop off finished products between sites where dry, level ground is in short supply. In companies where timing and precision is crucial, these features are built to keep drivers safe, relaxed, and on-schedule.

Mining Operations

In mining, the Brandt C550's QT100 steel, sealed wiring harnesses, and gel powder coat provides protection against corrosive elements and challenging road conditions, while making is easy to properly secure uncommon equipment. Whether transporting drill rigs, material handing trucks, or site preparation supplies, the C550 is here to help. Need more capacity? Are TYM Tractors Worth It? Evaluating Performance, Reliability, and Current Models

Are TYM Tractors Worth It? Evaluating Performance, Reliability, and Current Models

Introduction to TYM Tractors

When considering investing in a new tractor, buyers today have a wide variety of choices from brands based around the world. From John Deere, Kubota, Mahindra, TYM, LS, and dozens more brands operating in the United States, knowing what questions to ask in advance can save hours of research into finding a reliable and efficient machine for your next job. TYM (Tong Yang Moolsan) tractors, originating from South Korea, have made a significant impact on the global market in recent years, particularly in the compact and utility tractor segments. Their mid-sized T474, T574, and T754 models have been incredibly popular for acreages, small production farms, food plots, and municipal applications, while the compact T224 and TT25 tractors have found a fit with homeowners, small acreages, and as a multi-use replacement for compact skid loaders. Today, the T115 and T130 tractors are powering TYM into the future with advanced Deutz powertrains, modern all-new digital displays, and the power to handle bigger jobs on today's large production farms and growing cattle lots.
TYM T574 Compact Tractor

History and Background of TYM Tractors

TYM was established in 1951 in South Korea and has since grown into a prominent player in the global tractor industry both through their own brand, and for other tractor companies searching for a robust compact tractor offering. Initially focused on smaller compact tractors, TYM has expanded its offerings to include a wide range of tractors designed to meet various agricultural and landscaping needs. The company's dedication to innovation and quality has earned it a reputation for producing reliable and efficient tractors, while reducing costs by continuing to develop in-house manufacturing solutions for the full-product line.

Range of TYM Tractor Models

TYM offers a diverse range of tractor models, from compact and sub-compact tractors to larger utility models. These tractors are designed to cater to different applications, including farming, landscaping, and general property maintenance. Each model is engineered to provide optimal performance, ease of use, and durability, making TYM a versatile choice no matter the job. Today, the TYM brand includes the T224, T25, T2610, T2515, T3515, T4215, T474, T494, T574, T754, T115, and T130 tractors, backed by a 2 year/2000 hour Bumper to Bumper Warranty, and a 72 Month/3000 hour Powertrain Warranty.

Performance Evaluation

Evaluating the performance of TYM tractors involves looking at several key aspects, including engine power, transmission options, and operator experience.
  • Engine Power and Performance
TYM tractors are equipped with Kukje, Yanmar, and Deutz engines that provide a balance of power and efficiency, meeting current U.S. Tier 4 and 5 emissions regulations. These engines are designed to deliver high torque across various tasks, whether plowing, mowing, or hauling, and convenient auto-throttles make staying in the power band easier than ever.
  • Transmission Options
TYM tractors offer three primary types of transmissions to suit different user preferences and tasks. Compact tractors and small utility tractors have the option of hydrostatic transmissions for beginners or those desiring a smoother ride across speed changes, or syncho shuttle for jobs that benefit from consistent, fixed gear power such as mowing, planting, or tilling. Higher horsepower models such as the T754 offer a choice of synchro shuttle or power synchro shuttle transmission, with the latter becoming very popular after it's release in 2021.
  • Operator Comfort
One of the standout benefits of a TYM tractor is the attention to operator convenience, comfort, and ergonomics. With the purchase of Branson Tractors in 2022, both lines have seen numerous small changes to upgrade seats and improve seating positions, more comfortable loader controls, high quality seals and HVAC systems for extreme weather, rear electric raise/lower 3pt controls, heated/cooled cupholders (in the T115 and T130 models), wireless phone charging (select models), high quality radios with bluetooth connectivity and premium speakers, and much more.

Reliability and Durability

When investing in a tractor, reliability and durability have become one of the primary differentiators between tractor manufacturers today. Many TYM tractors feature an industry leading 6-year powertrain warranty, offering peace of mind coverage after the original 2 year/2000 hour Bumper to Bumper warranty expires.
  • Build Quality and Support
TYM tractors are constructed using high-quality materials with subassemblies that are largely built by in-house, allowing for rigorous quality standards. The use of robust steel frames and oversized loader arms allow TYM to offer high capacity front lift capacities, while still exceeding the industry standard for 3-point lift capacity. Additionally, TYM’s attention to detail in the assembly process enhances the overall build quality, contributing to the tractors’ longevity. An ever growing network of authorized servicing dealers in all 50 states, with continued development of a multi-million dollar parts warehouse expansion in Georgia means that maintenance, wear parts, service, and support is easier than ever.

User Reviews and Testimonials

To get a well-rounded view of TYM tractors, it’s important to consider the experiences of current users.
  • Pros of TYM Tractors
Many users praise TYM tractors for their affordability, which does not come at the expense of quality. The versatility of TYM tractors is another frequently mentioned advantage, with users appreciating the wide range of tasks these tractors can handle with their excellent loader and rear hitch lift, support for mid-mount mowers, and variety of tire options. The new T115 and T130 tractors have been well-recieved also, featuring highly rated Deutz engines and improved support for larger attachments. Additionally, the ease of use, particularly with the hydrostatic transmission models, is a common highlight in user reviews for less experienced operators and those working in tight spaces.
  • Cons of TYM Tractors
While TYM tractors receive positive feedback overall, occasional delays in parts availability and the need for more comprehensive user manuals continues to be an area where TYM's recent investments will soon pay dividends. However, these issues are relatively minor and do not significantly detract from the overall positive experience reported by most users.

Comparison with Competitors

When compared to other brands like John Deere and Kubota, TYM tractors hold their own in terms of performance and features. They offer similar engine power and versatility, better user reviews across several models, and are priced more competitively overall, at times up to 54% less than competing models. However, established brands like John Deere and Kubota still have an edge with their extensive local dealer networks.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance is crucial to ensuring the longevity and optimal performance of any tractor or mechanical component. TYM provides a detailed recommended maintenance schedule that includes regular checks and servicing of key components such as the engine, transmission, and hydraulic systems, such as a 50-hour fluid change and regular filter replacements to reduce problematic particulates.

General Features

The Agrifac Condor is available in multiple poly tank capacities of 4000, 5000, and 8000 liters, making it suitable for various farm sizes and reducing the frequency of refills. Each model is designed with a robust, yet lightweight proprietary StabiloPlus chassis that enhances maneuverability across uneven fields without compromising on stability. This also helps to ensure that the boom remains parallel with the ground, making the spray pattern as consistent as possible, regardless of field conditions. The Condor's advanced GreenFlowPlus system is another efficiency-oriented feature that not only ensures precise chemical application but also reduces the volume of chemicals needed, contributing to cost savings and environmental safety. The system uses a compact pump system, short pipes, and electronic values to maintains consistent pressure and flow rates. This reduces the buildup of deposits, improves spray consistency, and minimizes leftover fluid in the tank. Additionally, the Condor features the HighTechAirPlus system, which combines air assistance with liquid flow. This technology helps to ensure that droplets are distributed more evenly across the crops, significantly improving coverage and reducing drift. With an up to 20% savings in applied chemicals with this system alone; complemented by the ability to operate in moderately windy environments, this system quickly pays for itself in limited working windows.

Engine and Performance

The powerful Cummins engine equipped in the Condor not only delivers reliable and robust performance but also meets ever-expanding emissions standards. This configuration can result in fuel consumption savings of up to 20%. The smooth and responsive transmission and AWD system further complements this, allowing for easy adjustments to speed and power based no matter the terrain or task at hand.

Operator Comfort and Control

Agrifac’s focus on operator comfort is evident in every aspect of the Condor’s design. The Class cab is equipped with advanced noise insulation, reducing engine and operation noise to create a quieter, more comfortable working environment. Additionally, the cab features anti-vibration mounts that provide a smoother ride to help reduce operator fatigue over long working hours. The Condor also offers a state-of-the-art user interface; simplifying the management of spraying operations with convenient support for the  modern application systems operators rely on day-to day.

Environmental Impact

One of the most significant innovations in the Condor is the AiCPlus system, which stands for Agrifac Intelligent Camera-Controlled Spraying Technology. This technology uses cameras to detect vegetation and only activates nozzles when plants are detected, reducing chemical usage by up to 80%. This targeted approach not only minimizes environmental impact but also significantly reduces the cost associated with wasted chemicals and chemical transportation to the field.

Maintenance and Options

In terms of maintenance, the Agrifac Condor is designed for ease of access to all major components, making routine checks and servicing straightforward. The machine’s diagnostic system alerts operators to potential issues before they become serious, helping to avoid unplanned downtime. Customization options for the Condor are extensive, ranging from adjustable boom widths to suit different crop types to variable tire sizes for different soil conditions. Farmers can also opt for additional features such as LED lighting or suspension options for particularly tough terrain. Each customization option is designed to enhance the Condor’s versatility and adaptability to specific farming needs, making it a truly personalized tool for any agricultural setting.

Loftness EZ Pick Rock Pickers

Loftness EZ Pick Rock Pickers

When clearing rocks, wood, concrete, and rubble - a well built rock picker is a must. With hundreds of options on the market today from pull-type to vibrating buckets, here are a few reasons why the Loftness EZ Pick is one of our favorites.

A Simpler, More Convenient Design

Contrary to many current pull-behind designs, the EZ Pick is built to mount quickly and easily on a universal skid steer mount. This simple change offer operators greater visibility, as well as the ability handle scattered debris directly instead of making multiple looping passes with a tractor. Instead of utilizing a separate hydraulic lift system, the EZ Pick simply unloads with the integrated skid steer hydraulics by opening the front tines. This design also reduces the number of moving parts required, improving overall lifespan and reducing the maintenance required. Additionally, cleverly included features like the flat, reinforced floor make backdragging and smoothing cleared areas a breeze, reducing the need for a separate back dragging blade.

Built Tough Where It Matters

Built to handle rocks up to 2' in diameter, the Loftness doubles down on it's goal of no-hassle, easy operation by using a 1/4" thick steel back plate, 3/16" side plates, and 1" thick solid high carbon steel tines. This rugged construction is topped off with a fully-welded, reinforced frame, and No. 60 HD roller chain on the drive system, giving it the ability to handle extra large loads while remaining as compact as possible.   With sizes ranging from 1/2 cu yd to 1-1/4 cu yd and a low hydraulic requirement of just 6 gpm, operators with all sizes of equipment are able to easily utilize this rock picker in their daily routine.

The 360° Bidirectional Reel

The 360° reel is the special feature that allows for easy handling of materials of all sizes. Fully operator controlled, the teeth act to guide rocks, branches, and other material over the integrated ridge, holding material securely in place while maximizing capacity. When it's time to unload, it's as easy as moving the tines upwards to quickly unload the entire bucket. In the event of a stuck piece of material or jam, the reel is reversible to clear the bucket and continue working.
